Are you guys ready for some mighty fine Photo Booth pics to start your day off right (unless you’re on the East coast, in which case, are you ready for some Photo Booth pics to eat your lunch with?)
Here are some quick pics of my new hair. My apologies for the lack of care in making sure they look ok – I’m sitting in a gray box under fluorescent lights at the Myspace offices, and on top of that, I don’t really know how to use Photoshop.
Do you like? I am really stoked on it. At first I was worried it was too short, a la Kate Gosslin, but after I woke up and styled it myself, I realized just how much I love it. I think the longer pieces in front are especially fantastic, though not being able to put my hair in a ponytail will be interesting, especially while running (which I’m still doing, M-W-F! More update on that soon.)
Yeah for new hair!

It’s been nearly six months since Julian and I got married, but we are somehow just now finding the time to sort through and upload photos from our honeymoon in Paris and Berlin. Mostly Paris, though, since most of the photos in Berlin are of the animals in the zoo. Yes, I made him go to the zoo on his honeymoon. Evil, I know.
I’ve uploaded many of them to Flickr, if you’d like to have a look, but here are a few of my favorites!

This weekend was even more exciting than I had originally planned, because among other things, I got a
new camera. For the past several months and years, the only camera I’ve had access to is that of my iPhone, Blackberry or Macbook. When Julian came into the picture, he brought along a very expensive and very fancy camera, but one that I not only didn’t know how to use, but that I would probably drop and/or break. It made for very few opportunities to fully document trips, parties, and life in general.
“life in general”
But that all changed on Saturday when we decided to just bite the bullet and get a camera! After much research, husband settled on one model that seemed to be better than the rest in the point-and-shoot category – the Sony CyberShot DSC-TX5. It’s touchscreen, has a sweet (and wide) lense, is drop proof (awesome) and even WATERPROOF up to 10 ft. We’ll be putting that to the test next time we are on vacation, for sure. It was kind of a splurge, but everyone needs a camera, and this is one that we’ll have for years to come.
Here are some of the shots from my first day with the camera. As I’ve said before, I kind of suck at taking photographs, so if you see something good on here, chances are Julian took it, not me.
Let’s end on a very positive note – lasagna cupcakes.
On another note, I’ve decided it should be illegal for me to work on Mondays. It is not only hazardous to my own health, but detrimental to the sanity of others. Thank you & goodnight.

For all of you who have been bugging me about posting wedding photos, I’m sorry but you’ll have to wait. I could post some of the ones my family and friends have tagged on Facebook, but I prefer to wait until our incredible photographer Jason Connel is done with his magic official photos to really share them with the world.
But, to hold you over, check out these adorbs engagement photos he shot for us just a couple days before the wedding in Hillsboro Village, Nashville. That’s right, you can totally wait until your wedding is hours away before taking engagement pics. They’re a little small on the blog, but you can click to enlarge.
Don’t we look so happy and relaxed? And just think, moments before the shoot I was on the verge of tears/a nervous breakdown.
One of my favorites.
This was my idea
Awkward moment: the girls who owned these bikes came to get them as we were posing with them… oops!
This really happened… one of Julian’s fans recognized him while we were shooting. I am used to playing “fan photographer” by now.
Which one is your favorite?!
Okay, just one actual wedding photo for fun:
Jason is Houston-based, but travels often, so if you’re in the market for a fantabulous photog, definitely give him a holler.
He’s talented and will make you laugh during those awkward photos. You won’t be disappointed!

Saturdays might be my favorite day of the week. Fridays are nice, too, with the impeding weekend ahead of you and all, but there is nothing better than a Saturday morning with no plans. No plans that is, except but to get a dozen donuts from SK’s, brew a huge pot of coffee, and watch movies on the couch.
I had my in-house photographer take these photos today so I could share the beauty of this day with you all:
These teacups are special to me. I found them in a thrift store in Middleburg, VA two Christmases ago. The pattern really called out to me and I couldn’t figure out why – my Mom later told me that is the same pattern she had when I was a youngster. Makes sense now. I’d love to know the name of it so I can get more of it! I made Julian drink at least one cup of coffee out of it before he could graduate to his big boy mug that holds more caffeine.
If there is one thing we have plenty of in LA, it is donut shops. But perhaps none are as delicious as SK’s on 3rd and Formosa. Except maybe Randy’s, but that’s a given… SK’s on Saturdays has become somewhat of a ritual for Julian and I. My favorite are the chocolate glazed, he prefers regular glazed. Please note the ratio of chocolate glazed:regular glazed in the box. Mhmm.
While grocery shopping last night, I got distracted by the Valentine’s Day candy. I’m talking like, 15 minutes of mulling around the holiday aisle distracted. I was disappointed to only find the crap brand of candy hearts (no white hearts? Seriously?), but we still bought bags of Sweet-Tart hearts and cinnamon imperials… the best thing about this holiday is the CANDY! For sure. Saint Valentine wasn’t so bad either, I guess!
“The first representation of Saint Valentine appeared in the Nuremberg Chronicle, (1493); alongside the woodcut portrait of Valentine the text states that he was a Roman priest martyred during the reign of Claudius II, known as Claudius Gothicus. He was arrested and imprisoned upon being caught marrying Christian couples and otherwise aiding Christians who were at the time being persecuted by Claudius in Rome. Helping Christians at this time was considered a crime. Claudius took a liking to this prisoner — until Valentinus tried to convert the Emperor — whereupon this priest was condemned to death. He was beaten with clubs and stoned; when that didn’t finish him, he was beheaded outside the Flaminian Gate. Various dates are given for the martyrdom or martyrdoms: 269, 270, or 273.“
Do you see the face?
And for no other reason than because I love my neighbor’s windows across the alley (she painted her windowpanes turquoise ♥), a picture of one of the windows. I’m almost certain I can get a better shot of this, but for now it’ll do. I want to do this, very badly!
I know I’m a total flake and forgot to do Things I Love Thursday this week, but I’ve been too busy with social gatherings. I’m so popular, I know! Thursday night I had a celebratory dinner with my closest GFs in LA at Le Petit Four in honor of my engagement. It was wonderful, we ate like Queens and I sat around and basked in their loveliness. I am so lucky to have such smart, sweet, caring, talented and beautiful friends.
Last night I played hostess to two of Julian’s new friends, Rhett and Link, who you may recognize from their YouTube channel. I made white chicken chili and we sat around and listened to advice from two married men on wedding to-dos and not-to-dos. I got a sneak peek at a music video the guys filmed in a bathroom this week with Julian (yeah) and will be releasing soon. It is truly hilarious, can’t wait to share. It also has a cameo from one very popular female tech vlogger.
So I guess you can just count this as a TiLT, because, well, I love all these things!
Alright, there is laundry to be done and donuts to polish off. Don’t be jealous. xoxo

I don’t use Photo Booth a lot, but when I do, I tend to go a bit nuts, taking up to 20 shots at once. (One could pin me as a narcissist, and well, they might be partially right – after all, aren’t all bloggers self-lovers?) Last night, I had Photo Booth open to take a picture of myself wearing a face mask (because, what else are you supposed to do?) and started looking back through the pictures. It gave me some tingly feelings inside as I remembered funny days at work, lazy days in the dead heat of LA summer, and even earlier in the year when Julian and I were long distance and spent hours on Skype.
Here is a random selection, just for fun:
Excited about my blinged out ethernet cable (thanks, Josh!) – check out cutie Charlotte in the background!

We were meant for each other. June 2009
Team Spirit. Team SocialVibe.
A hot summer day with nothing else better to do than make funny faces. I’m just me.
With the precious Cookie. Can’t get over how short my hair is!!
Proud of my purple nails.
The day I decided to use Daily Booth. I only took 3 pictures and quit. (Cute Scoutie on the couch behind me)
SocialVibe in Seventeen magazine! (Please note my nails were painted in this picture…. later in the day below)
The only one of my enormous Crumbs birthday cupcakes that I ate… out of about 30. (See? Further proof of my love-hate relationship with nail polish.)
I lub dogs!!! Anna ♥
Sitting at our booth at Social Media Strategies in SF. Later, my buddy Brian Solis came to sit with me and I told everyone he was my intern.
Another shot with me and Miss Cookie! Her wardrobe is better than mine. This was her tennis outfit.
Anticipating Christmas in October.
Halloween at work. Wearing Julian’s bunny costume (yes, really).
Incapable of not making a goofball face.
Once again… this time trying out my Halloween wig.
I’ll end with the original purpose of the Photo Booth… face masks (Clinique Deep Cleansing Emergency Mask, btw) are always better when paired with Boyfriend Hoodies.

One of the things I love the most about writing this blog is choosing the photos that I use in the posts. Sometimes I search for a specific item or “look”, sometimes I use a photo from my personal collection, but I always, always bookmark photos that I happen upon (most of the time on Flickr) in hopes of finding a perfect use for them in a future blog post. After seeing a pretty mosaic from one of my favorite bloggers (also named Sara) on Walk Slowly Live Wildly, I figure there is no harm in having an entire post devoted to some of my favorite photos I’ve found recently. It’s quite hilarious that I’m so obsessed because I am actually a pretty horrid photographer – just WAIT til you see the pics from our road trip.
Many of these are Christmas-themed, because I am oh-so-excited about my favorite time of year arriving. I’ve already hung white lights on my balcony, lit a gigantor-sized Yankee candle in the holiday scent and clocked over 10 hours (easy) of Christmas-music-listening… bring on the Christmas cookie baking, holiday shopping, countless parties, phone calls back home and non-stop holiday movies (I’ve already made a pact with Julian to watch only Christmas movies in December. Shouldn’t be hard to do. We started A Christmas Story Monday night because my lame self has never seen it…)
Weren’t I going to post photos in this post? Here they are:
1. our Christmas gift wrapping table 2006!, 2. Vintage Holiday , 3. I *heart* Christmas, 4. Sofa (nd) of Christmas!, 5. Reflecting, 6. Pink Heaven, 7. 005, 8. The Tree’s Up, 9. | s i l l y b o k e h |, 10. Tis the Season, 11. my magic Christmas bicycle………, 12. The dollhouse at Christmas, 13. Mossy’s masterpiece – Christmas cupcake toppers – Baby Girl’s first christmas, 14. christmas cookies 109, 15. shiny brite ornaments
What excites you the most about Christmas? And – whose wonderful photos do I need to see that I’m currently missing?

Just spotted this photo on the NYLON blog and I have to say, it makes me crave NYC even though I was just up in that piece last week.
The photo is of the NYLON logo in the window of the Nike store on Mercer. Sigh…. I miss you, New York!
