things i love thursday (& vet tech school!)

A couple big things are on the horizon, which are kind of making me giddy. I can’t share all just yet, but I can say this… it’s not a baby. Haha! For all of you who are waiting (& asking) for that to happen, it’s not even close to time yet.

BUT! Here’s what it is time for.

• Going back to school! This is the big change I was cryptically talking about in my recent post. I’ve been holding back on sharing this for a while, because I didn’t want to jinx anything until I actually got all registered. But now that I am, I can ‘officially’ announce that I’m going back to school this Fall to study veterinary technology. It’s a pretty popular profession, but if you aren’t familiar, a vet tech is basically a nurse for animals. Assisting the vet in surgery, taking x-rays, doing physical exams, lots of fun stuff. I know what many of you are thinking – “well, that’s random/different.” It is. But working with animals is kind of my dream, and pursuing this has been on my mind for YEARS. I haven’t been able to get over the idea, so I decided to just go for it! Why not?? I’m very nervous, but mostly excited, and really confident that I’m doing the right thing. It’s something I can see myself spending my life doing, and there are many different ways I can use these skills & help them grow/evolve, plus I find helping animals to be extremely fulfilling. And that should be no surprise to anyone! So yay for that! I’ll probably be sharing more about this later, but suffice to say I’ll be pretty busy once school starts up and I’m not quite sure what that will look like for my blogging. Will cross that bridge when I get there.

So what else?

HGTV House Hunters marathons with my husby • FAGE 2% greek yogurt (the ones with peach and strawberry are so good!) • fresh, organic peaches from the farm • sleeping like a log and waking up feeling rested • good news from friends • it officially being summer! • remembering old songs that I love (I have this habit of losing music, and thus forgetting songs/artists I was once into) • hydrangeas in mason jars • reading finance books and not being completely lost (though honestly, not 100% following it either) • accidentally spending 2 hours on the phone with my Grandma • super fun game night/party with our DPs • the way Pepper sleeps on Julian’s side of the bed exclusively (she’s such a Papa’s girl) and she always PASSES OUT, it kind of freaks me out because she looks like a dead possum when she’s sleeping on her back with her legs sprawled out • finding out something you wanted is on sale now for 50% • looking forward to being in Chi-town in less than a week!

So that’s wassup with me. What’s up with you?
