I found a few photos from Disneyland while thumbing through my Flickr account and thought they are too cute not to share. We made the mistake of visiting Disney two days after Christmas, in the thick of the holiday break, when kids are out of school and families are looking for something, anything to distract them from having to actually TALK to their family members that are in town. Disneyland it is!! I hereby vow never to visit a Disney theme park on a weekend, holiday vacation, or Spring Break, ever, ever again.
We had a blast overall, but it was so packed (the park actually sold out), we only rode two rides by the time 5pm rolled around. Thank God Space Mountain is open til midnight. Once the weather cooled off and the crowds thinned out, we made our rounds and were able to ride most of the things we wanted to ride in the evening hours. These two cuties were taken while we were on the teacups – the first ride of the day, around 2pm, while the Christmas parade was in full effect behind us. That ride… is awesome.
Aside from the rides, we also stuffed our faces with massive amounts of BBQ, cotton candy, Dole Whips, and other unmentionables. Julian was recognized at least 5 times by fans and someone even asked me if he was Tom from Myspace because he was wearing my Myspace hoodie. Hilarious.
We’re already looking forward to our next Disney excursion when we visit Orlando in late March for Playlist Live, where Julian is performing (buy your tickets at the link!) Fun times!!!
I owe you all a proper update, but until I muster up the energy, here’s a little something fun for you to watch. It’s my hubs’ latest video, one that he worked extremely hard on I might add! I guess Julian felt a little bad for making me listen to him editing this song for weeks on end, so he gave me a little cameo. First timer!
I’m a big fan of all his vids, but this one is especially fantastic. I think it’s my new fave.
Last thing. Let me take this moment to debunk the myth that Julian actually reads books… I’m the library nerd around these parts.
The old saying is true, laughter is the best medicine! That’s why I married a funny guy. He’s constantly got me in stitches (what a silly saying, btw).
P.S. It still feels weird to write “2011,” doesn’t it? I kind of like it, though. I’m usually more of an ‘even numbers’ type girl, but the freshness of the New Year and all the excitement and change that is waiting for you that year is just soo tasty, I am willing to embrace the odd number.
It’s been a while, eh? I’m not keeping myself on too strict a schedule these days. My blog posts tend to feel forced and phony if I’m not really genuinely wanting to share something – but this week, when I wasn’t chained to my tissue box and sleeping the days away (I’ve been sick), I found myself thinking about several things that I’d want to include in a little listerino – so here we are.
dimmer switches • Godiva white chocolate starfishes with raspberry filling • finishing not one but TWO books over the holiday break! • getting a shipping notification for a pair of (incredible) L.L. Bean slippers that were supposed to be on back order til April! • spending all day inside while it’s raining • Just Dance 2 for Wii • booking a trip to Hawaii for our one year anniversary (this coming May – SO EXCITED!) • when I put raspberries in my hot oatmeal and they start to kind of melt and the oatmeal turns pinkish and tastes like raspberries. • getting new organizational-type things for our house and starting to finally unpack those last boxes from the move • starting to put away Christmas decorations – normally not a fan, but I love how decluttered everything is looking! • talking on the phone (old-school, right?) • buying birthday presents for my smaller family members (don’t you wish grown-ups still liked toys?) • damnyouautocorrect.com – I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time. Haha!
I’m still technically on vacay, but I wanted to drop in for just a sec to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! I also wanted to share a few fun facts with you:
1. The last thing I ate in 2010 was sweet potato casserole.
2. The last thing I drank in 2010 (and first thing in 2011) was champagne.
3. The last person I talked to (besides my husband) in 2010 was my darling sister Ana.
4. I was doing a handstand when the clock struck midnight (so was Julian). This was a snap decision we made at the :30 seconds-to-go mark!
5. The first thing I did in 2011 (besides kiss my husband) was play Super Mario World for Nintendo 64 (on the Wii).
6. I am not making any New Years Resolutions… because let’s be honest – that’s way too much pressure for one girl to handle!
Add all those things up and I’d say I’m well suited for an incredible 2011, and it’s looking like it’s going to be one fabulous year. Dare I say, even better than 2010? It’ll be hard to top getting married, honeymooning, and moving into our first “real” house, but I think we can make it happen. I hope the same for you!
Thank you all for reading all year long, I’m looking forward to giving you lots more to read in 2011.
“Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each New Year find you a better man.”
